diffusion pumps
The main component of diffusive vacuum pumps is a cylindrical pump equipped with a heated bottom part. The pumping agent is oil. Oil vapors are pumped into the nozzle system to then penetrate through several stages in the form of vapors and escape from the entire system under high pressure. The fine particles contained in the process gas are absorbed by these vapors and then drawn to the forepump. Oil vapors condense on the inner surface of the water-cooled pump unit and are directed back down. Thanks to the use of an innovative – and multi-stage – nozzle system, diffusion pumps offered by Grados ensure very high and stable evaporation speed.
