DRB booster vacuum pumps Atlas Copco fixed or variable speed have a non-contact rotating structure. It allows them to run at higher speeds, offering increased pumping speeds for auxiliary pumps.

Vacuum boosters are also called Roots pumps. They are usually used to increase the pumping speed in the system or to achieve a lower level of final vacuum. The most common application of DRB vacuum pumps based on Roots technology is to power smaller vacuum pumps.

These devices are used for a wide variety of applications. Especially those requiring high discharge speed and low pressure. In combination with dry or oil-sealed back-vacuum pumps, our DRB and DRB VSD‌‌+‌‌ boosters are very effective at increasing discharge rates at low pressure, thus extending the operating pressure range of the back-vacuum pumps.

An additional advantage is the lower energy consumption compared to a single auxiliary pump with the same discharge rate.

DRB booster vacuum pumps with VSD technology

We went one step further and added Atlas Copco Variable Speed Drive (VSD) technology to the DRB series. We designed them to support the most demanding applications in modern vacuum manufacturing processes. Our DRB VSD+ series pumps can be controlled with HEX@™, Atlas Copco’s revolutionary vacuum pump controller.
