The Delavan Cool-Cast™ nozzle provides improved cooling with less water. The patented nozzle design produces a stream with highly uniform droplets. This allows for a more controlled cooling process, reducing the risk of puddle formation, localized uneven cooling, and thermal roll deflection. The dense flat spray pattern, with angles ranging from 60° to 120°, ensures good coverage with a small number of nozzles. The Cool-Cast™ design uses less air than conventional nozzles, resulting in lower energy consumption due to reduced load on the air compressor.

Continuous metal casting is a relatively new process in the steel industry, but significant progress has been made in recent years. In a constant pursuit of technological advancements, Delavan engineers have collaborated with steel mills around the world, implementing numerous improvements to the casting process.

The result of intensive research and development is the Delavan Cool-Cast™ nozzle, which, thanks to its highly uniform droplet size, can significantly improve ingot quality and reduce energy costs in continuous casting.

Steel production in today's market, from ingot mills to bar mills, including secondary cooling during the casting process, requires efficient spray nozzles. The latest Delavan Cool-Cast™ "91Block Style"92 nozzle offers flexibility in positioning in tight spaces between frame sections. The ability to use quick-connect nozzles with parallel tubes allows operators to access quick-connect nozzles during rebuilds. Interchangeable components allow fluid and air flow to easily adapt to changes in product grades. The all-stainless steel construction extends nozzle durability and life in harsh environments. Cool-Cast™ nozzles typically use less air than other types, further reducing operating costs. The Cool-Cast™ '91Block Style '92 nozzle features multiple thread sizes and fluid connections to prevent mismatches. The Cool-Cast™ design also uses less air than traditional nozzles, which translates into energy savings by reducing the load on the air compressor.

A full range of nozzle sizes is available for both types of assembly. The attached data sheet includes drawings showing the corresponding air consumption and fluid flow rates for various air and fluid pressure ranges. The data contained in this brochure is for guidance only. Standard manufacturing tolerances are +/- 5%.
